"My goal in each workshop is to get it right and pass it on. More than that , though, I want to emphasize the value in what we potters do, at whatever level of participation we're engaged in. I want to create an environment in which each participant feels enough to risk making these pots we see out of the corner of our eye, just beyond the wheel, just out of reach - the ones we have a hunch about. I want us to be on the path, looking for the trails, where it's a little more wild.
My pots are functional, with strong Japanese and English influences. They are building bridges. Ranging in scale from 4-inch pots to 48-inch vases, my pots are for heart and home. the making of 600 pots takes 8 weeks, when the moon is right and it is not soccer season."
