Guest Presenter:Master Potter, Kang Hyo Lee, South Korea

Master Potter Kang Hyo Lee demonstrated his interpretation of traditional Korean pottery of Onggi. This utilitarian ware which was made for centuries for storage, cooking and food preservation is becoming a dying folk art form. Constructed of large coils, then paddled and shaped on a kick wheel, Onggi became an endangered pottery style as the plastic and metals replaced the traditional pots.

Kang Hyo Lee has traveled the world giving workshops and demonstrations. Most recently he has been demonstrating at several American Universities and has been the guest of the International Ceramics Festival. The International Ceramics Ceramics Festival called his demonstrations spellbinding and icredible!
