During the month of February, 2005, the public was given the opportunity to experience the work of our conference presenters in the Gallery of the Morings Art Center. Dwight Holland opened the conference and introduced this years presenters. He dedicated the Sunday Lectured to the memory of Walter and Dorothy Auman and reminded us that we were all invited to his home for a Pig Picking. This was a special treat. Dwight's sisters were our very special hosts this evening making sure that our plates were filled with delicious North Carolina style roast pork, hush puppies and cole slaw.
As participants of the conference, we were invited to bring pieces of our own work to be exibited and sold in the gallery.
The 2006 North Carolina Potters' Conference will be "The Austrailian Conference". Scheduled to appear March 3, 4, & 5 are Chester Nealie, Janet Mansfield, and Owen Rye. The theme for 2007 is "Seeking Personal Esthetics" and will feature Chris Staley, Malcolm Davis, and Gail Kendall.
